Text Box: Columbus Day “art worship” service is planned
Sunday is Columbus Day and the Unitarian Church of Augusta will observe the day with a unique worship service utilizing dance, live music, and a drama based on a theme of "Discovery."
Eleven members and friends of the church will participate in the unusual service, which will be held at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
The program is entitled "A Day in the Discovery of Columbus."
Children and their parents are especially invited to attend the 9:30 a.m. service as the regular Sunday School program for children will begin at 10:30 a.m. Nursery care will be available during the second service only.
"Landscape", a play by Harold Pinter will be incorporated into the 11 a.m. service but will not be presented at the first performance.
Many of the performers in the Sunday service also appeared in "Samples"—an art worship service performed last spring to a standing room only audience.
Church officials said the two services were planned this Sunday in anticipation of a large turnout.
The public is cordially invited. The services will start promptly at the scheduled time.
Performing in "A Day" will be Barbara Goldthwait, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher B. Woodsum, Dorothy Smith, John Alston. Ronald Colton, Frances Mc- Callum, Steve Arthur and John Rosett.

Talk Back after the Service is a Unitarian tradition where we get to discuss the sermon topic with the speaker.

Each service usually ends with our singing our congregational anthem, Spirit of Life and holding hands.
